Lometa track project nears the finish line

The new athletic track for Lometa ISD is nearing completion, with the top base layer set to be laid within the next week. The project previously experienced weather delays, but Lometa School officials said work crews anticipate a March 25 completion date.

Reimbursements related to the disabled veterans’ tax exemption may be on the horizon for Lampasas County. During Monday’s Lampasas County Commissioners Court meeting, lobbyist Hilary Shine provided an update on a bill navigating through the legislative process in Austin.

‘Learn to Burn’ workshop scheduled this week in Burnet

Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will offer a two-day “Learn to Burn” session for instruction on how to properly and safely burn brush piles. The classroom portion is Friday from 1-3 p.m. at the AgriLife building in Burnet at 607 N. Vandeveer, followed by a Saturday 8 a.m.
Cowboy Sage Morris administers routine vaccinations to a calf during a fall work session. As new FDA regulations are set to go into effect in June, vaccinations will become even more important in reducing the possibility an antibiotic will be needed for maintaining herd health.
