LISD puts focus on staff, student health measures

With nothing more important than one’s well-being, Lampasas Independent School District is doing all it can to ensure good health for its staff and students. Donna Clark, director of School Health Services, has been leading the charge behind LISD’s policies for new health and safety measures.

Bringing history back to life

Myra Barlin has no history with the city of Lampasas but on a stroll through its downtown square, she immediately fell in love with the structure at 511 E. Third St. The lifelong Austinite is in the process of renovating the old historic building located on the courthouse square.

Blood drive draws good numbers; donors reach milestones

Lampasas Community Blood Drive coordinator Wanda Lang reported on the success of last week’s American Red Cross blood drive, held for the first time over a two-day period. Seventy-two people participated, donating 77 units of blood, Lang said. That figure included 13 first-time donors.

Lampasas County 27th District Court convened last week with Judge John Gauntt presiding over the day’s hearings. Defendant Vanessa Rayleen Sanchez of Lampasas entered a plea of guilty and was found guilty of possession of a controlled substance less than 1 gram.
