The report from the March 15 Lampasas Cattle Auction follows. Cattle and calves: Total cattle 1,269, compared to 717 last sale and 648 at this time last year. Compared to last sale, feeder steers and heifers were steady. Slaughter cows and slaughter bulls were $2-$4 higher.

Morrises delight group at museum

Derek Groves, Jason Roberts, Donnie Price and friends performed recently at an outdoor concert at the Lampasas County Museum. The free concerts are being offered each Saturday afternoon through April to help recognize the many talented musicians whose roots are here.

First responders rescue boys from collapsed tunnel

On Saturday, two juveniles were rescued after a tunnel they dug along the Lampasas River behind the River Place neighborhood collapsed on top of them. First responders accessed the Lampasas River from 1582 County Road 3150 once they arrived on the scene.

BRUSH CHIPPING CONTINUES Brush chipping in Lampasas will continue March 20-24, when brush placed at curbside will be picked up from the southeast section of the city – areas south of First Street and east of Key Avenue.

First responders rescue juveniles from collapsed cliff

On Saturday, two juveniles were rescued on the side of the Lampasas River after being trapped by a cliff that fell on top of them.  Lampasas Fire Department Capt. Colton Baker, who was on the scene, said the pair received injuries that do not appear to be life-threatening.

baylor university More than 5,100 Baylor University students have been named to the Fall 2022 Dean’s Academic Honor List, which recognizes undergraduates for their outstanding academic work during each semester. Students on the Dean’s List earned a minimum semester grade-point average of 3.
