State comptroller says sales tax growth is slowing

Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar said the most recent period of business activity reflected a trend of significant but slowing growth for sales tax revenue. His statement came in a news release announcing the latest sales tax allocations to Texas cities, counties and special-purpose districts.

Proclamation celebrates Lampasas’ 150 years

The Lampasas County Museum hosted a ceremony Friday to begin a year of celebrating Lampasas’ sesquicentennial. Museum board president Boyce Cabaniss opened the event by introducing Mayor TJ Monroe and reminding attendees to stay for refreshments that included Blue Bell ice cream.

KWSC notifies of CR 3210 leak

Kempner Water Supply Corp. issued notice of a leak on Friday morning at a little after 9 a.m. “Members, there is a leak on [County Road] 3210.  KWSC is on site and repairs are underway. All of CR 3210 will likely experience loss of water pressure,” officials said.

Lampasas County Museum will offer two more Saturday concert dates featuring local musicians. The free performances have been held in conjunction with the museum’s “And the Beat Goes On” exhibit that celebrates the music legacy of the county.

Band Boosters to host annual fundraiser tomorrow

The Lampasas Band Parents Booster Club will host its Tunes-NTaters fundraiser Saturday from 4-7 p.m. at the Lampasas High School gymnasium. The event will include a loaded baked potato dinner, silent auction and music performed by the LHS jazz band. Cost for the event is $15.
