The non-denominational women’s ministry event MORE will take place Oct. 7 from 6:30-7:45 p.m. at The Adelphia.Guest speaker will be Tracy Irvin.The annual get-together offers a time of fellowship and refreshment for women from all across the county.Casual dress is encouraged.

Taylor Creek hosts 9/11 remembrance ceremony

Taylor Creek Elementary School students, staff and parents gathered Wednesday morning to honor the sacrifices by first responders on Sept. 11, 2001.Wednesday marked the 23rd anniversary of the attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City.

Donations sought for clothing drive

Saratoga Masonic Lodge #546 is holding a clothing drive to collect new or gently used clothing. Donations will be given to New Beginning of Restoration and Hope, a Lampasas-based non-profit community outreach organization.Donations will be accepted through Sept. 16.

A group of Kline Whitis Elementary School students delivered a tree to the campus last Tuesday in remembrance of former Hanna Springs Elementary nurse Tobi King.King served as a nurse at the campus from 2023-2024.

Daughters of Republic of Texas host district meeting here

The Oran Milo Roberts Chapter of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas hosted a District V meeting on Aug. 24 at Lampasas Methodist Church.DRT consists of 94 chapters in 10 districts, with multiple towns in each district.
