Kitchen renovation complete at hospital

Advent Health Rollins Brook has announced the completion of a muchneeded kitchen renovation and expansion project at the hospital. A celebration of the occasion is set for Sept. 16 at a Kitchen Reveal Party and Tour.

LHS graduates set to become EMTs

Bryce Neeley and Hailey Hays's career paths were transformed by the Lampasas High School’s Career and Technical Education Emergency Medical Technician course.Last Thursday, the pair successfully acquired their EMT test to make themselves eligible to serve in the field.

Lampasas residents will have the chance next month to see historic arrowheads and more displayed at the Indian Artifact, Gem, and Mineral Show.The annual event sponsored by Vision Lampasas will take place at the old Lampasas Middle School cafeteria on Sept. 28 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Badger Band ready to showcase ‘Fallout’ performance

The Lampasas High School Badger Band is taking inspiration from the popular video game and TV series “Fallout” for this year’s marching performance.Last year, the Badger Band’s marching show “Dia De Los Muertos” featured songs from the popular Disney movie “Coco.

Benefit concert Sept. 7 to raise money to fight childhood cancer

The Folded Owl, a local non-profit organization, will host its second annual childhood cancer awareness event with a “CONCERT4HOPE” at Putters & Gutters Fun Center on Sept. 7.The Folded Owl seeks to promote youth education, entrepreneurship and volunteerism for humanitarian causes.

It’s rare to find a set of twins, much less four in one grade level – which is the case for Kline Whitis Elementary School.This school year, the elementary campus has four sets of twins in second grade, one set in fifth grade and another pair in pre-kindergarten.

Lometa Community Theater shines in successful opening

Anew theater group in Lometa has taken center stage, with a production of “Superhero Sanitarium” by Scott Haan. The show, directed by Jennifer Wisian, is the inaugural production for the Lometa Community Theater and was sold out before the performance last Saturday.

The non-denominational women’s ministry event MORE is scheduled this year for Oct. 7 from 6:30-7:45 p.m. at The Adelphia.Guest speaker will be Tracy Irvin. The annual get-together offers a time of fellowship and refreshment for women from all across the county.Casual dress is encouraged.

GriefShare sessions to begin Aug. 27

A new session of GriefShare, a weekly support group for those who have suffered the death of a loved one, will begin Aug. 27 and extend through Nov. 19.The sessions are held on Tuesdays from 5:307:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church’s fellowship hall, 402 S. Key Ave.
