After one of the most successful boys’ basketball seasons in recent history, most of the Badger team has been recognized on the District 24-4A All-District selections.

Last week was the second track meet of the season for both the Lampasas boys’ and girls teams and they ran their races at Lago Vista.Coach Cory Warner said several athletes achieved their season’s best, and many of them competed in their first meet of the season.Results from the meet follow.

Five Lady Badger lifters heading to state meet

Lampasas girls’ powerlifters traveled to Dublin last week for the regional powerlifting meet and had a lot of success. Five of the lifters did enough to qualify for the state meet March 20 in Edinburg.

Badgers complete second-half comeback over Gatesville

The Lampasas soccer team showed some grit and fought back after being down 1-0 at the half against Gatesville last Friday to win 3-1.“At halftime, I knew we were going to be fine from the looks on this team’s face,” head coach Samuel Burnside said.

Softball team struggles with tough competition at Centex tournament

The Centex Turf Wars tournament presented a challenge for the Lady Badger softball team.The Lampasas girls went 0-6 over the course of the weekend with losses to Andrews, Stony Point, Leander, East View, Brock and Lake Belton.

The Badger basketball team ran into a buzzsaw last Friday night, competing against the Navasota Rattlers. The area round of the playoffs took place in Thrall.The Badgers lost 76-47 in a game in which they fell behind early and never could make up that ground.

Girls’ soccer team heading to postseason after win over Gatesville

The Lady Badger soccer team will head to the playoffs for the first time since 2019, after beating Gatesville 1-0 last Friday night.Valle Bales, in her sophomore campaign, recorded the only goal of the game as she continues to be the Lady Badgers’ best scorer. Kelbie Black picked up the assist.

Badgers scratch Cougars for first-round playoff win

The Badger basketball team has been chasing a first-round playoff win for the past three years. That goal was achieved Tuesday night in Academy with a 64-60 Lampasas win over the China Spring Cougars.The Badgers got out to a quick start in the game, but then hit an offensive lull.
