Lady Badgers finish summer league this week

With their final set of games played Monday, the Lady Badger basketball team officially finished summer league action as the month of June came to an end.The girls played multiple games every Tuesday at Lampasas High School.

Coach retires after 34 years in Lampasas

Longtime middle school coach and teacher Jim Burks has officially retired after 34 years in Lampasas and a long, successful career.Burks spent the majority of his career at Lampasas Middle School.

After three weeks of competition against the Gatesville Hornets, the series of 7-on-7 games has come to an end. Now the attention will turn toward fall football camp which starts in a little over a month.

Basketball team plays final game in Hamilton summer league

The Badger basketball team played its final two games in Hamilton on Monday night.Lampasas picked up a win over Clifton 49-48, and then the team lost a tough game to Goldthwaite 60-39.In the game against Clifton, scoring was led by Vincent Shahan with 13 points.

Badgers play three games at Georgetown summer league

Last Thursday, the Badger basketball team played three contests in Georgetown for the third consecutive week this summer.Starting against a team from McNeil High School, the Badgers won 39-28. They were led in scoring by Vincent Shahan and Nolan Lecker with eight points each.

New UIL temperature restrictions create difficulties for athletics

The wet bulb is a tool that may have created a few nightmares for athletic directors around the state. Coaches now will be required to pull their athletes off the field or court if the temperature reaches a certain point.

Former Badger returns to coach at middle school

A former multisport athlete for the Badgers is officially back in Lampasas. Dax Brookreson has accepted a job as a teacher and coach at Lampasas Middle School for the upcoming school year.
