Lampasas lifters head to state after stellar regional performance

Last week, the Badgers competed in the boys’ regional powerlifting meet. Six different lifters earned the right to compete at the state level at the end of the month.To start off the weekend, Aaron Everts competed in the unequipped regional powerlifting meet in Joshua.

Girls’ powerlifters competing at state this week

Lady Badgers Aimee Weinheimer, Gabrielle Lewellen, Cadence Reza, Ally Weinheimer and Amari Munoz will all compete in Edinburg from Wednesday through Saturday for the state powerlifting meet.

Boys’ and girls’ soccer teams set for playoff matches Thursday

This year marks the first time since at least 2019 that both the Lampasas boys’ and girls’ soccer teams are playing in a bi-district playoff match. They are going to do it on the same pitch on the same day.Both teams are set to face Life Waxahachie on Thursday at Lorena High School.

Last Friday, the Badger baseball team finished off the series sweep of Taylor with their second run-rule victory in two district games against the Ducks.Lampasas won 16-0 over the Ducks in what was the district home opener.

A four-run first inning was the difference maker for the Lady Badger softball team in its 6-3 win over the Lady Ducks last Friday.Two of the runs in the first inning were driven in by Madison Magilke and Emory Vineyard, while the other two scored on an error by Taylor.

Both the Badger and Lady Badger soccer teams are set to play Life Waxahachie in the bi-district round of the playoffs next Thursday. The girls will play the first game at 5 p.m. while the boys will follow around 7 p.m. Both contests will be played at Lorena High School.

Softball gets important win over Marble Falls

On Tuesday, the Lady Badger softball team picked up a 7-5 win over the Lady Mustangs in Marble Falls to move to 2-1 in district play.The Lady Badgers scored in the first inning after an error by the Lady Mustangs allowed two runs to come in.In the second inning, Lampasas had some trouble.
