Hubert “Arlis” Shelton, 65, died on Aug. 1, 2024, at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Temple.He was born Sept. 22, 1958, in San Antonio to Charles N. and Dorothy Sauls Shelton.Arlis grew up in Nixon, Texas.In 1978, he graduated from East Central High School in San Antonio.

Mr. Simpson

Curtis Larry Simpson, 80, of Lampasas died on July 26, 2024.Larry was born on Sept. 30, 1943 to Emil Simpson and Edith Book Simpson in Greenway, Arkansas, where he spent his childhood and teen years. He graduated from Greenway High School in 1961.

Gary Vann funeral set for today; burial to follow at Naruna

Former banker Marvin Gary Vann, 70, died Aug. 4, 2024, at Heart Hospital of Austin.Funeral services will be held Aug. 9 at First Baptist Church in Lampasas at 2 p.m., with visitation an hour prior. Burial will follow at Naruna Cemetery in Burnet County.

Sally Ruth Nuckles, 88, died at San Gabriel Rehabilitation and Care Center in Round Rock on July 27, 2024.She was a loving wife, a dedicated mother, a doting grandmother and a friend to many.Sally was born Sept. 30, 1935, the only child of Walter E.

Mrs. Timmons

Karen Ruth Davis Timmons, 58, died on July 25, 2024, surrounded by her family.Karen was born Aug. 26, 1965, in Lampasas to Roy Eugene Davis and Henrietta Davis Brown.She attended Lampasas schools for 11 years and graduated from Grand Prairie High School.

Mrs. Beyer

Shirley A. Beyer, 80, died on July 28, 2024 at her home in Lampasas.Funeral services were held at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel on Aug. 1. Burial at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery will be private.Shirley was born on March 2, 1944, in Quincy, Illinois to Clarence and Edith (Bangert) Lawber.

Tobi Jean King died on July 25, 2024, at age 50 in Lampasas.She was born to the late Jackie and Elaine Owens on Dec. 3, 1973, in Big Spring.Tobi’s life was a testament to her love for family, whom she cherished more than anything.

Marjorie “Elaine” Jackson Owens died on July 25, 2024, in Lampasas at the age of 82.She was born on March 4, 1942, in Lamesa to Raymond and Clara Jackson of Big Spring.Elaine married Jackie Wayne Owens on June 3, 1960, at Westside Baptist Church in Big Spring. He preceded her in death.
