Mrs. Taylor

The family of Parthenia “Tena” Taylor has announced her death on Dec. 17, 2024 at the age of 70.Tena was born on April 13, 1954 in Lampasas. She was a dedicated nurse and loving family member, and will be remembered for her kindness, generosity and sense of humor.

Mrs. White

Joyce Marie White, 84, died on Dec. 21, 2024, at her home in Lampasas.Funeral services will be held at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel on Dec. 26 at 3 p.m., with visitation an hour prior.

Ms. Woodside

Nancy Ellen Woodside, 77, died on Dec. 18, 2024, at a nursing home in Killeen.No services are planned at this time. Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel has charge of arrangements.Nancy was born on Oct. 21, 1947, in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Albert and Lahoma (Northcut) Woodside.

Gilbert J. Riojas III

Gilbert J. Riojas III, Gilly for all who knew him, was called into eternal life on Friday, December 13, 2024. Gilly’s parents, Tina and Gilbert Riojas, fell in love at Uvalde High School, and married while attending Texas A&M University, where Gilly was born on May 13, 1977.

Mr. Clayton

Cory Ryan Clayton II, 19, died on Nov. 27, 2024, at his home in Copperas Cove.A memorial service will be held at Grace Fellowship Church in Lampasas at 1 p.m. on Dec. 12. Following the service, the family will greet friends and relatives at The Creekside Inn, 1177 County Rd 3010 in Lampasas.

Capt. Jones

Capt. Robert “Bob” Drake Jones (U.S. Navy, retired), age 82, died on Nov. 26, 2024 after a multi-year struggle with Lewy Body Dementia in Sugar Land.Bob was born on Dec. 12, 1941 in Shreveport, Louisiana. As an Army brat, he traveled extensively, including to Japan during the Occupation.

Mr. Finnell

Edward Finnell Jr., 80, died on Nov. 26, 2024, at Methodist Hospital in Houston.Funeral services will be held at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel in Lampasas on Dec. 7 at 11 a.m., with visitation an hour prior. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lampasas.Ed was born on Feb.

Mrs. Burton

Donna A. Burton, 86, died on Nov. 17, 2024 at her residence in Lampasas.A memorial service was held at Naruna Baptist Church at 1 p.m. on Nov. 21. Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel had charge of arrangements.Donna Arlyn Swink was born on Sept. 26, 1938, in Albany, Texas, to George and Evelyn Swink.

Mr. Jones

Michael Ray Jones, age 60, died on Nov. 17, 2024, at Seton Hospital in Austin.He was born on Dec. 11, 1963, in Houston to Don and Kay Fowler Jones.Michael grew up in Bryan and Lampasas. He graduated from Lampasas High School in 1982.
