The family of Nelda Darlene Hanson has announced her death at the age of 74 on April 28, 2025. She was a wife to Jerry Hanson, a mother to two daughters, and a loving “Mella” to five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Judy Montgomery was born on March 5, 1945, in Lampasas to Charlie Elam and Audrey Garner Elam.As was the case with many children born in 1945, Judy’s father was in the Army and was in transit from England to France.

Joe Bob Carden, 81, died on May 5, 2025, at Clear Sky Rehabilitation Hospital in Harker Heights.Funeral services will be held at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel in Lampasas at 11 a.m. May 14, with visitation an hour prior. Burial with full military honors will follow at Long Cove Cemetery in Lometa.
