Marian LaRue McGuire Hatcher of Arlington, Texas, died peacefully on Dec. 5, 2025, after a lengthy battle with cancer.She is survived by three children and their spouses, nine grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Margareta Kovach, 88, died Nov. 28, 2025.She was born on April 17, 1937, in Bamberg, Bavaria, Germany to Josef and Barbara Ernst. Raised during wartime in Bischberg, Germany, Margareta learned early the values of strength, resilience and familyqualities that would guide her throughout her life.

Mr. Walsh

James Garland Walsh Jr., 88, of Lometa, died on Nov. 17, 2025.He was born on Sept. 18, 1937. He lived in the Lometa area for more than 20 years.James worked for Hamilton Electric for 35 years before retiring to spend his days ranching, which he truly enjoyed.

Ms. Simon

Deana Odell Simon, 54, of Carrollton, died peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Nov. 24, 2025, in her family home in Lampasas.Born Oct. 16, 1971 in Austin to Charles and Barbara (Olson) Simon, Deana spent her younger years in Cedar Park, enjoying family vacations at the surrounding lakes.

Betty Louella Durham Murley was born July 6, 1935 in O’Donnell, Texas. She was the second oldest of eight children born to Homer and Farris Durham.She graduated from O’Donnell High School in 1942. During high school she worked for Mr.

Mrs. Thogmartin

Nada Wagley Thogmartin died peacefully on July 23, 2025. She lived a long, meaningful life and spread kindness through her presence, her stories and most famously her baking. Her sour cream cookies and brownies were a signature comfort at every family gathering.

James Marshall Garner Sr., 78, died of natural causes on Nov. 13, 2025, in Lampasas.A memorial service will be held at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel in Lampasas on Nov. 21 at 11 a.m. Interment will be private.Jimmy was born on July 4, 1947, to Leonard Marshall Garner and Emily Norine Anderson.
