Ramona Fay Smothers, 65, died on Jan. 22, 2026, surrounded by her family.She was born on Sept. 15, 1960 in Neubrucke, Germany to Paul and Mina “Fay” Supon. Mona grew up in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and graduated from Widefield High School.In high school she met Henry Marshall Smothers Jr.

James Clinton “Jim” Cox died on Jan. 11, 2026, at his home in Kempner, surrounded by his family, after a brief illness.Visitation will be held Jan. 29 from 5-7 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home in Lampasas.Funeral service is set for Jan. 30 at 11 a.m., also at Heritage Funeral Home.

Mrs. Martin

Emma Elizabeth “Putzie” Schoenewolf Martin, 83, died on Jan. 14, 2026, at her home in Lometa.Funeral Mass will be held at Church of the Good Shepherd in Lometa on Jan. 29 at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Lometa City Cemetery.

Mrs. Millsap

Barbara Jan Millsap, 86, of Lampasas, died on Jan. 10, 2026.Rosary was held at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel in Lampasas on Jan. 15 at 6 p.m, and visitation followed until 8 p.m.The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church on Jan. 16 at 10 a.m.

Mrs. Carroll

Laura Lou Carroll, 78 of Burnet, died on Dec. 30, 2025.Laura was born on May 12, 1947, in Comanche to parents Lloyd and Mary Thorp. Growing up, she lived and went to school in Lampasas.Laura was a wonderful housewife and had many different jobs along the way. One of her passions was cleaning houses.

Mr. Sanchez

Henry T. Sanchez, 74, of Lampasas died on Dec. 28, 2025, at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Temple.A celebration of his life will be held at the Lampasas VFW on Jan. 10, 2026, from 3-6 p.m. Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel has charge of arrangements.Henry was born on Oct.

Mrs. Woods

Lavonie “Vonnie” Hoozer Woods, 84, of Kingsland, died on Dec. 23, 2025.She was born on Dec. 15, 1941, in Beaumont to Earl and Hazel Smith Hoozer.Vonnie was raised in Vidor, and she graduated from Vidor High School in 1960.Shortly afterward, she served her country in the United States Army.

Mrs. Welch

Ruth Anne Key Welch, 86, of Lampasas, died peacefully on Dec. 31, 2025.She was born on March 24, 1939, in Austin to James Richard Key II and Geraldine (Dumas) Key.Anne married James Everett Welch in El Paso on Aug. 31, 1957.

Mr. Blaylock

On Dec. 26, 2025, at the age of 97, Joe Sharp Blaylock died in Round Rock, surrounded by his family.Joe was born in Granger, the youngest child of seven to Harvey Charles Blaylock and Jettie Vesti (Raby) Blaylock. He moved to Austin when he was 4 years old.
