Kayla Renee McElhannon, 40, died on Jan. 3, 2022, at St. Luke’s Hospital in The Woodlands.
She was born Feb. 13, 1981, to John D. and Tanya Geis McElhannon.
A memorial service will be held at Lampasas Community Church on Jan. 9 at 2 p.m., officiated by Roland Schaub.
Kayla grew up in Lampasas and graduated from Lampasas High School. She enjoyed being a mom and was very proud of her son, Caiden. She also enjoyed crafting, spending time with family and raising pit bulls.
Kayla was preceded in death by her younger brother, Justin Allen McElhannon; her grandparents John and Dorothy McElhannon; and her grandfather Allen Geis.
Survivors include her parents, John D. and Tanya McElhannon; son, Caiden McElhannon; girlfriend, Sindy Farfan; grandmother, Jerra Geis; sister-in-law, Misty McElhannon Stout and her husband Christopher Stout; six nephews; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Donations in Kayla’s name may be made to the ASPCA or the local animal shelter.
