Ruby Orestus Wolfe, 99, died on Dec. 31, 2020.

Visitation was held on Jan. 4, 2021 at Sneed Funeral Chapel in Lampasas.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Jan. 5 at Townsen Cemetery in Adamsville. Face coverings are requested.

Ruby was born on Nov. 16, 1921 in Lometa to Ross Orestus and Mary Viola Lindsey Greer. She grew up in Rockdale.

Ruby married Wayne O. Wolfe in 1937 in Lampasas. They were married for 62 years. She and her husband

She and her husband bought a farm in Adamsville, where they raised their family. In addition to being a homemaker and working on the farm raising chickens and selling eggs, Ruby also cooked at the Adamsville school and drove the school bus.

Later, the family moved to Lampasas, where she successfully owned and operated Wolfe's Sewing Machines and Antiques on North U.S. Highway 281, selling and servicing sewing machines for many years. She also purchased and managed rental properties.

Ruby was an accomplished seamstress and quilter. She received numerous awards for her quilts, including Grand Overall at the Texas Sesquicentennial State Fair. She especially enjoyed gifting loved ones with her homemade quilts.

She also served as a church pianist, and played the guitar and accordion by ear.

She enjoyed traveling and took each of her grandchildren on an extended trip. Ruby had a love of the outdoors and enjoyed swimming, fishing and deer hunting. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family. Ruby was known as Grannie by many among her church family as well.

Ruby was a lifelong member of the Berean Christadelphian Church, where she served her Lord by serving others with her organizing and cooking skills at the Lampasas ecclesia and annual Hye church camp meetings.

She was preceded in death by her husband; brother, R.O. Greer Jr.; sisters Estelle Greer, Faydell Greer, Jewell Bell, Marie Cassidy and Linnie Hennig; and grandchildren Diane Summerville Carl and Justin Roberts.

Ruby is survived by her children Wayne Wolfe Jr. and wife Rotha of Lampasas, Robert Wolfe and wife Sharon of Rogers, Richard Wolfe and wife Cherry of Adamsville, and Dorothy Summerville and husband Jimmy of Lampasas; sister Nona Peterson of Elgin; 14 grandchildren; 50 greatgrandchildren; and 22 great-great-grandchildren.
