Eric Stephen Simpson, 47, of Kempner died on Dec. 20, 2020. His memorial service is at 11 a.m. on Feb. 15, 2021 at First Baptist Church in Kempner.
Eric was born on Feb. 27, 1973 to David A. Simpson and Carolyn Carter Simpson in Kittery, Maine. He graduated from Wayne High School in Huber Heights, Ohio.
He was an Army veteran and a contractor on Fort Hood. His missions took him to Iraq and Kuwait many times over several years and to numerous states. At the time of his death, Eric was employed with Semper Valens Solutions on Fort Hood.
Eric attended First Baptist Church in Kempner, and his heart for service led him to be active in the Copperas Cove Moose Lodge and Moose Riders Club working on projects to help fund Mooseheart.
He enjoyed joking around with family and friends, riding his motorcycle and reading.
Eric was preceded in death by his father, David A. Simpson; and brother, Shawn E. Crane.
Eric is survived by his mother, Carolyn Simpson Crane and husband Robert of Kempner; stepmother, Eunice Simpson of Ohio; brothers Michael Simpson (Bonita) of North Carolina, Ronald Crane (Kathleen) of Colorado, Braven Blackwell and Daniel Simpson of Ohio, and Phillip Liles of Virginia; nieces Kelly Simpson and Aaliyah Liles, both of Virginia; a nephew, Cody Liles of Alabama; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
