Michael Stanley McLean, 69, of Lampasas died on Dec. 19, 2021.
He was born in Lampasas on Oct. 10, 1952 to William Joseph McLean and Peggy Nell Hoover McLean.
Michael married Lou Gene Pierce on Sept. 5, 1987 in Lampasas at the Gillen House. The couple built, owned and operated West Oaks Independent Living Center for 20 years.

He was employed as an international human resources recruiter for Global Marine Drilling. His career took him to destinations all over the world. He enjoyed seeing different places and was a hard worker.
Michael had a cheerful personality that was contagious. He loved being outdoors and was a skilled handyman. Most of all, he enjoyed gathering around the table, sharing stories of his childhood and business travels with family and friends.
Michael is survived by his wife, Lou Gene McLean of Lampasas; his father, William McLean (Ann) of Lampasas; son Corey McLean (Courtney) of Houston, daughter Kristin Miller of Fort Worth, and son Derek McLean of Huffman; and nine grandchildren, Lauren, Ryan, Ashleigh, Cody, Cassidy, Declan, Keylan, Annalee and Jamison.
He was preceded in death by his mother and a brother, Pat McLean.
Visitation is scheduled for Jan. 8, 2022 at 1 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home in Lampasas, followed by a memorial service at 1:30 p.m.
