Stuart Marens Bloss, 92, died on Feb. 21, 2021 in Lampasas.

Visitation was held Feb. 25 at Sneed Funeral Chapel.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Feb. 26, also at Sneed Funeral Chapel, with interment to follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Stuart was born on Dec. 6, 1928 to Jacob and Sonya Bloss in Syracuse, New York.

He served his country in the United States Air Force from 1950-1980, retiring with the rank of colonel. During his time in the military, he served in both the Korean War and Vietnam War as a command pilot.

He was known to be witty and sharp. He and his late wife, who died in 2011, loved animals, and Stuart would bring in anything he saw wandering around the streets. He rescued six dogs and a cat.

Donations in his name can be made to the Lampasas Animal Shelter.

Stuart was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Bloss, and son, Brian Bloss.

Survivors include his daughter, Cynthia Bloss; grandchildren Amanda, Heather and Amber; one greatgrandchild; nephews Bill Bales and Steve Bales; and cousins Ryan Bales and Tyler Gillis.
