Two found dead in Lampasas home in apparent family violence incident

A 59-year-old man and woman were found dead this afternoon in a residence in the 700 block of Antelope Lane, according to the Lampasas Police Department.

A press release posted on Facebook this evening by the department said emergency medical personnel were dispatched to the home at approximately 3:58 p.m. in response to a possible medical emergency.

Upon arrival, medical personnel located a deceased 59-year-old male on the back porch. Officers who responded then entered the residence and found a deceased 59-year-old female inside, the department said.

Both individuals had sustained gunshot wounds, and evidence at the scene indicated a disturbance had occurred between the occupants, the department said. Their identities are being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The incident remains under investigation by the Lampasas Police Department and the Texas Department of Public Safety’s Texas Ranger Division. Authorities said no additional details would be released at this time due to the active investigation.
