Lometa celebrated Homecoming in style Friday night, defeating the Bynum Bulldogs 56-14.Lometa’s passing attack was the story of the game, with seven of the Hornets’ scores coming via receiving touchdowns. Defensively, Lometa recovered three fumbles that all led to points for the Hornets.

Trying to reach the cupola

RKJ Construction had specialized equipment on hand Monday to reach the cupola atop the courthouse. Crews spent significant time trying to navigate safely to that height so they could do painting and sealing on the exterior.
High-powered telescopes and astronomers will be available Oct. 18 at Fiesta Winery for a Star Party at 6 p.m., hosted by Lampasas County Friends of the Night Sky. The county has some of the darkest skies in the Hill Country, which makes for perfect viewing opportunities.
