AdventHealth to hold Remembrance Ceremony

AdventHealth Central Texas is extending an invitation to anyone who has suffered the loss of a child to attend a Remembrance Ceremony on Sunday at 3 p.m. at the AdventHealth Central Texas Ambulatory Surgery Center, 2201 S. Clear Creek Rd. in Killeen.

Pearl church to celebrate 130th reunion

Pearl Church of Christ will hold its 130th reunion Sunday at the church, 6790 FM 183 in Pearl.The church service at 10:30 a.m. will feature guest speaker Will Jackson. A catered barbecue dinner on the grounds will follow the service.

DISTRICT COURT

Lampasas County 27th District Court convened last week with Judge Debbie Garrett presiding over the day’s hearings.Defendant Kyle Scot Johnson of Bastrop pleaded guilty to a charge of driving while intoxicated with previous intoxication manslaughter conviction.

GRAND JURY

Lampasas County grand jury convened Wednesday to continue the July term.Investigators Wayne Hilgenberg and Edward Hood of the Lampasas County Sheriff’s Department presented information that resulted in three indictments: Toni Michelle Sharp on a charge of impersonate a police officer on July 21.

ARRESTS

The following arrests were reported to the Lampasas Dispatch Record by area law enforcement officials. The Dispatch Record prints the name and charge(s) of people arrested on at least one Class B misdemeanor – or more serious – charge.

Commissioners OK Christmas activities

The Christmas spirit is coming to the Lampasas downtown square a little early in 2025.

CORRECTION

A photo cutline in the Oct. 14 edition incorrectly named the firm that donated steel beams for the church restoration project on East Fourth Street. Mike Irvin Steel Construction was responsible for the work and donated the steel beams.

Amendments would offer property tax relief

In odd-numbered years such as 2025, the November General Election includes for voter consideration any proposed amendments to the Texas Constitution that passed during the recently concluded legislative session.Seventeen constitutional amendments are on the ballot this year.
