LISD to crack down this year on e-cig, nicotine products on campus

Any student attending Lampasas Middle School or Lampasas High School who is caught with a nicotine or tobacco product will be subject to time at the Disciplinary Alternative Education Program campus. During Monday’s meeting of the Lampasas Independent School District Board of Trustees, members recommended the DAEP punishment for first-time e-cigarette offenses.

In the charred wake of four wildfires in Lampasas County, the National Weather Service issued more red flag and excessive heat warnings Thursday morning. According to Lampasas Volunteer Fire Department officials, the 60-acre Lucy Creek fire was contained as of 7 p.m.

Hostess House plans hit roadblock; council to seek new bids

An additional $38,000 for Hostess House design plans did not sit well with Lampasas City Council members at their July 24 meeting. So far, the city has paid Reliance Architecture $93,562.50 of the original $130,570 agreement for plans to bring the historic building up to code.
