In a special meeting Monday evening, the Lampasas Independent School District Board of Trustees approved its 2023-2024 fiscal-year budget. Trustees also discussed which company they would choose to install a silent panic alarm system, a decision that had to come by Sept.

City annexes property, OKs EDC spending plan

In a unanimous vote Monday, Lampasas City Council members approved the annexation of land south of the city despite ardent opposition from a neighboring resident. In a previous meeting, the council heard a request from Ron and Debra Kuker for voluntary annexation of 12.74 acres of land, which they plan to develop into multi-family housing.

Sheriff’s Office recognizes faith leaders

Sheriff Jess Ramos invited several faith leaders to attend a Wednesday afternoon staff meeting at the Lampasas County Law Enforcement Center, where he recognized them for their work. The focus of the event, the sheriff said, was for jail staff and deputies to know they have prayers coming their way and that community members are ready to lend a helping hand.

KWSC: Stage 4 conservation to continue
