High school names Homecoming Court nominees

The Homecoming king and queen will be crowned tonight at halftime of the Badger football game. These 12 seniors have been named to the court. Front row left to right are Katlynn Bull, Lilee Hamill, Keely Carl, Saydalee Walker, Reagan McDonald and Kenzie Roberts. In back are Dylan Duvall, Levi Rivera, Benjamin Ybarra, Preston Isom, Keaton Black and Luke Rogers.

Lometa ISD ratifies annual budget, tax rate

Lometa ISD has officially adopted a budget for the 2023-2024 school year. The district’s Board of Trustees met Thursday for a special meeting to discuss and approve the new fiscal-year budget and tax rate.

Downtown store burglarized

Lampasas Police Department authorities said Merk & Tilley’s was burglarized early Thursday morning, and cash and clothing items were taken. At about 8:30 a.m., police received a call from employees who noticed the back door was open and items had been moved within the boutique business in the 400 block of South Live Oak Street.

Annual car show set for this weekend

The 15th annual Classics at the Classic Car Show will be held Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the back parking lot of Storm’s Drive-In at 201 N. Key Ave. Overflow parking will be available at the old middle school campus.
