Cities maintain sales tax growth over 2024

Year-to-date sales tax collections continue to show cities in the county are making gains over 2024.Although growth in the tax rebates has slowed for the city of Lampasas, it maintains a 2% edge in cumulative receipts over what it took in last year through October. The 2025 total stands at $2.

Brush chipping program to begin in November

Hanna Springs Elementary hosted a pep rally Friday afternoon to celebrate student achievement at the end of the first nine weeks of the school term. Badger Man took center stage and helped hype up the crowd and lead the celebration. For more photos from the pep rally, see page 2.

Kempner City Council members accepted City Secretary Hayleigh Talasek’s resignation in last Tuesday’s regular meeting.Council members approved a budget amendment, however, that will allow Talasek to remain with the city through the 2025-2026 fiscal year.

Annual Fields of Faith event to be held Wednesday evening

On Wednesday, Lampasas students and residents will gather at Badger Field for the annual Fields of Faith event. The gates will open at 5:45 p.m., and a sack supper will be available for the first 300 people to enter. The event will then start around 6:30 p.m.
