Commissioners oppose transmission line route

The Lampasas County Commissioners Court is backing the efforts of Water Control & Improvement District No. 1 to protect flood control dams in Lampasas County from a 765-kilovolt transmission line project that could cross through the area.

Power surge leads to fire at house on Skyline Drive

A collapsed electric line on Crider Lane caused a power surge that led to a house fire on Skyline Drive during the evening hours of Aug. 19.Lampasas Fire Marshal Bart Baker said no injuries were reported in the fire, adding that residents took quick action to extinguish the flames.

Suspect apprehended after shooting incident

The Lampasas Police Department, with assistance from several law enforcement agencies, apprehended 20-year-old Nathan Samuel Diederich on Monday.Diederich, of Lampasas, is the suspect in a shooting incident Sunday that left a 24-yearold man with a gunshot wound to the neck.

Commissioners turn down responsibility for east-end subdivision

ATMOS Energy continues gas pipe upgrades

ATMOS Energy crews replacing natural gas pipelines within the city of Lampasas are expected to continue their work through October.ATMOS officials said the company is replacing old steel gas pipes in areas that are more susceptible to potential gas leaks.
