LCRA accepting applications for community grants

The Lower Colorado River Authority is accepting applications this month for community grants for projects such as improvements to fire stations, community centers, sports fields, libraries and other facilities as well as providing updated gear and equipment for emergency responders.

A changing of the guard for the Lampasas Economic Development Corp. Board of Directors is bringing new ideas to the table in 2026.Board President Deorald Finney told the Dispatch Record the EDC will present its directors’ “wish list” to the Lampasas City Council at its regular meeting on Jan. 26.

Sparks fly during Fastest Torch contest

Devon Lively participates in the Fastest Torch welding contest Wednesday evening. The event is part of the annual Lampasas County Youth Livestock Show, taking place at the show barn this week. Competition will conclude Saturday with the cattle show. Premium sale is set for 5 p.m. that night.

LISD inches closer to finalizing bond propositions

The Lampasas ISD Board of Trustees is just weeks away from calling a May 2026 bond election that will include a new Lampasas Middle School campus.During Monday’s called meeting, trustees brainstormed possible bond proposals and what the tax impacts could be on residents.
