LISD trustees vote to replace two on appraisal board

The Lampasas Independent School District Board of Trustees voted during Monday’s regular meeting for two new representatives to serve on the Lampasas Central Appraisal District board. The decision came after both the Lampasas City Council and Lampasas County Commissioners Court decided to shake up the LCAD board room with their votes.

Cantu indicted for ‘unlawful communications’

Lometa Police Chief Melissa Cantu has been indicted on a felony charge following a Texas Rangers investigation. Cantu, 39, turned herself in to the Lampasas County Sheriff’s Office Wednesday evening, sheriff’s office authorities said, after she was indicted on a charge of unlawful interception/ use/disclosure of wire, oral or electronic communications, a second-degree felony.
