Candy Cane Lane ready to greet park visitors

Holiday lights are resplendent at W.M. Brook Park, and the lighted Candy Cane Lane walkway is one of the more picturesque decorations offered during the Christmas season. The park is a popular spot for photos. It will host Christmas on the Creek activities Dec. 13.

TxDOT to begin preliminary study for expanding I-14 through county

The Texas Department of Transportation Brownwood District held two public meetings this week to unveil its Interstate-14 route study that will extend the highway from Copperas Cove to Lometa.

New recreation specialist has passion for her profession

A city employee who was brought in over the summer has been working to make some positive changes in the city’s Parks and Recreation Department.Bailey Carter was hired as the city’s recreation specialist in June after serving previously within Killeen’s Parks and Recreation Department.

Stage is set for Carol of Lights

The courthouse bandstand has been decorated in preparation for Saturday’s all-day holiday festivities, hosted by the Lampasas Downtown Association and Vision Lampasas. The farmers’ market will open at 9 a.m.

Burn ban lifted through Monday afternoon

Lampasas County Judge Randy Hoyer has extended the order temporarily lifting the outdoor burn ban so that it now expires at 5 p.m. Dec. 8.Landowners are encouraged to contact the sheriff’s office at 512-556-8255 prior to conducting a burn and to exercise caution when burning brush.

Dermatology care available now in Lampasas County

U.S. Dermatology Partners has announced the opening of its new office in Lampasas, the first dedicated dermatology clinic to serve Lampasas County residents.The clinic is located in the Lampasas Specialty Clinic facility at 207 West Avenue F, just behind AdventHealth Rollins Brook.
