County residents voice displeasure over potential data centers in area

The Lampasas County Commissioners Court has committed to drafting a resolution opposing data centers and renewable energy projects like battery energy storage systems (BESS) in the county.The decision came after residents expressed concerns in Monday’s regular meeting.

Structure fire claims one life

A structure fire at 1366 Old Georgetown Rd. in the early hours of March 20 claimed the life of a 73-year-old Lampasas County resident.Julie Marie Davis-Raley was pronounced dead at the scene following fire suppression efforts.
The show barn was filled with local business representatives and residents Saturday evening to support the Creating Badger Builders program. A pork chop dinner was served by Benny Boyd, and many items were available for the silent and live auctions. GOOD FRIDAY CANTATAThe Lampasas Community Choir will offer two performances this year of its Good Friday Cantata entitled “Just Imagine… .” The April 3 performances will be at noon and 6 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 401 S. Chestnut.

L-M Club prepares for annual flower show, plant sale

On March 16, the L-M Garden and Civic Club held its March meeting. Hostesses were Lewvon Hicks, Debbie Hicks and Laurie Davis. They served a delicious Irish stew and decorated for St. Patrick’s Day.The program for the evening was given by Teresa Stewart.

The Lampasas Economic Development Corp. Board of Directors approved a $30,000 contract with Chase Kuker and Jordan Kuker for a multi-media package during Wednesday’s regular meeting.
