Central Texas Aggie Moms recognized for 35 years here

The Central Texas Aggie Moms recently received a 35-year Certificate of Recognition in College Station at the Federation of Aggie Mothers Clubs Winter Meeting.The local club was started in 1990.One of the founding members was Carol Wright.

Reservations available for museum’s annual Teddy Bear Tea Party

The Lampasas County Museum will host its annual Teddy Bear Tea Party April 11 from 2-3 p.m. for girls 4-8 years of age.Sign up at the museum, as seating is limited. Lampasas County Museum, at 303 S. Western, is open Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Diamondback Jubilee weekend is here

Hog sacking has proven to be a popular event at the Lometa Diamondback Jubilee. The festival kicks off with rodeo events tonight and Saturday. Other highlights are a chili cookoff, cornhole tournament, goat roping, food concessions, concerts both nights and, of course, rattlesnakes.

Commissioners Court approves sheriff’s office request for new radios

The Lampasas County Sheriff’s Office is set to receive 26 new APX Next Motorola Solutions radios. The Lampasas County Commissioners Court approved the purchase in Monday’s regular meeting.

DISTRICT COURT

Lampasas County 27th District Court convened a couple of times over the last week, with Judge Debbie Garrett presiding over the criminal hearings.On March 23, a charge of evading arrest/detention with a vehicle was dismissed for Dennis Martinez of Lampasas.

Lometa ISD to add press box to athletic facilities

Lometa Independent School District’s Board of Trustees met Tuesday for a special planning meeting on the district’s new athletic complex.Board members approved a bid for construction of a press box to accompany the track and football field that were completed in 2023.
