Caring for plants overwintering indoors

Gardeners are notorious for pushing the limits of their growing zones. Tropical plants, succulents and other plants that are not hardy to the winter climate often end up indoors for the winter. It usually starts with one or two plants you just can’t part with or are concerned you won’t be able to purchase next year. Since you are taking a couple of plants in for the winter, why not add a few more?

Lometa High School’s storied One-Act Play program will take the stage once again on March 4, when the school hosts the district contest. The department will be beginning its path to another state contest appearance with a production of the play “Loving” by Peter Manos.

Meeting in regular session in City Council Chambers with all members present last week, the Lometa City Council moved quickly through a brief agenda. The council approved an item pertaining to the advertisement of a job vacancy at City Hall.

The grand champion market steer in the 2024 Lampasas County Youth Livestock Show was awarded to Kari Greiner for her heavyweight entry. Greiner is pictured here with parents Emily and Corey Greiner, and brother Braxton Greiner. Greiner is new to the show ring, and she also was the recipient of the Colorado River Cattlewomen’s Association First-Time Beef Exhibitor award.
