Chick-fil-A looking to serve Lampasas

For the foreseeable future, Lampasas residents will have easy access to Chickfil- A’s chicken sandwiches. Monday was the first day the fast-food restaurant’s Copperas Cove franchise set up shop just outside Home Place Floors on the downtown square.

Lometa ISD led by all-female officers

Lometa ISD’s Board of Trustees has made history this summer, by selecting its first all-female officer team. Cristopher Brister was nominated by former president John Hines at the May meeting and sworn in.

Almost half the cities in the surrounding counties saw their sales tax rebates drop this month when compared to June 2022 receipts.

Sales tax rebates trend downward in June

Local sales tax allocations for June have slowed, compared to the earlier months of 2023. Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar announced that payments to the cities, counties and special purpose districts that levy a local sales tax averaged just 2% more than in June 2022.

Electricity, water service restored

Although electricity has been restored to Kempner Water Supply Corp. facilities and water service to its customers, officials ask that the public continue water conservation measures while reserves are replenished. In a message issued at 8 p.m.

ERCOT requests voluntarily electricity reduction

ERCOT is asking Texans to voluntarily reduce electricity use, if safe to do so, due to extreme temperatures and forecasted record demand. This Voluntary Conservation Notice is in effect Tuesday, June 20 from 4– 8 p.m.
