Texans reminded to drive sober this Independence Day

This Independence Day, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service’s “Watch UR BAC” program, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Texas Department of Transportation want to remind drivers that “Buzzed Driving is Drunk Driving.

Lampasas High School Class of 1983 will hold its 40-year reunion on July 8 at 175 Private Road 3020 in Lampasas. Schedule of events follows. Friday, July 7 will be set-up day, so come on out. Carl Johnson will grill some snacks. On Saturday, July 8, meet at Curves (215 E. Third St.

Lampasas Farm Bureau directors attend Summer Leadership Institute

Lampasas County Farm Bureau directors are attending the Texas Farm Bureau State Leadership Institute in San Marcos this week. Local directors and President Mike Hail are representing Lampasas, including Texas Farm Bureau District 8 State Director Mickey and Jani Edwards.

Watch pets for signs of heat-related illness

With the forecast predicting temperatures in the upper 90s and 100s in the coming days, pets need extra care to avoid heat stroke and related problems.

Get ready to race!

A variety of competitions will be offered at Gavin Garrett Soccer Field on July 7 for Spring Ho Kids’ Day Activities. The sack race is one many enjoy. Also that day between noon and 2 p.m., the Farm Bureau will set up a Children’s Banyard at the soccer complex.
