Lampasas officials expect boil-water notice rescission before this weekend

Although mainline repairs in the Kempner Water Supply Corp. system were completed late Tuesday night, the long process of repressurizing lines left many in Lampasas County without proper water flow until Thursday morning.

Water production slows due to flooding

Central Texas Water Supply’s plant that provides water to Lampasas is unable to produce water due to heavy rains last week. CTWS has two different plants along Stillhouse Hollow Lake, with the plant on the west side servicing Lampasas.

Tuesday is Election Day

Registered voters will head to the polls Tuesday to participate in the statewide Constitutional Amendment Election. Fourteen amendments to the Texas Constitution are offered for voter consideration in 2023.

KWSC line repaired, boil water notice still in effect

Update: As of 11:51 a.m., KWSC officials said many customers may still be without water or water pressure.  "KWSC is still working hard to get water moving through the system," officials said in a public statement.

First responders distribute water, take donations during emergency

Kempner Volunteer Fire Department officials said they would welcome donations of potable water to address Tuesday’s water emergency.

Boil water notice issued

Updates: As of 4:15 p.m., KWSC officials stated they have received the 10-inch piece of concrete pipe required for the repair, and repair work will soon be underway. Once welding is complete, the lines will be repressurized. Customers are expected to have water later tonight, officials said.

Brush chipping underway

The city of Lampasas has begun its fall brush chipping program. Residents may place brush by their front curb for pick-up by city crews during the designated week for each quadrant of town, beginning Oct. 30 through Nov.
