Aileen Roberts brought the November program for the Oran Milo Roberts Chapter of Daughters of the Republic of Texas. Dressed in character, Roberts recited diary excerpts from the period of the Runaway Scrape, when Texas residents fled from Santa Anna’s advancing army during the Texas Revolution.

Lampasas City Council casts votes for LCAD board candidates in split vote

In a divided vote Monday night, Lampasas City Council members assigned votes in the Lampasas Central Appraisal District Board of Directors election. An emergency water provision agreement was approved with Kempner Water Supply Corp., and an economic strategic plan also was discussed.

City reverts to Stage 3 conservation measures

The city of Lampasas implemented Stage 3 Water Conservation measures on Tuesday. According to city documents, the goal of Stage 3 response is to reduce water use by 20%.

TxDOT outlines options for U.S. 281 project

The Texas Department of Transportation hosted an open house Tuesday evening at New Covenant Church to outline its U.S. Highway 281 expansion plans that will extend from Lampasas to Evant. TxDOT presented five different routes to replace the current 28-mile segment of U.S.

County Judge Randy Hoyer has lifted the outdoor burn ban. Burning in the county will be allowed until 6 p.m. Nov. 30. Residents are asked to notify the Lampasas County Sheriff’s Office at 512-556-8255 when they plan to conduct a burn.

District Court to examine Lometa records in ongoing investigation

Lometa city officials have confirmed that municipal records have been turned over to District Court authorities due to an ongoing investigation. City Attorney Raika Rowe, of Guevarra Law P.C., confirmed that a warrant was issued by 27th District Court of Lampasas County on Nov.

Chief appraiser explains delay in mailing tax bills to property owners

Lampasas County taxpayers have received their property tax statements later than usual this year, due to action by the Texas Legislature, Lampasas Central Appraisal District Chief Appraiser Susan Jones said.

UPDATE: KWSC announces main line fix on FM 2808

**Story updated at 2:50 p.m.   At 10:57 a.m. this morning, the Kempner Water Supply Corporation sent a message to customers informing of a main line leak on FM 2808. The issue has now been resolved.  In an alert to KWSC members at 2:45 p.m.
