Man indicted in mobile home shooting incident in Kempner

A Killeen man has been indicted and will face court proceedings after a burglary and shooting incident in Kempner in January.Trenton Trimele Lee Wood is accused of stealing valuables from a Kempner couple and returning hours later to fire a weapon at their home.

Felony drug case results in probation for Lampasas man

A Lampasas man issued a guilty plea in a felony drug distribution case almost a year to the day after his arrest.Nathaniel Gregory Martin, 39, pleaded guilty to a first-degree felony drug distribution charge on March 8 in the 27th District Court of Lampasas County.

Two Lampasans arrested on lottery fraud

Two Lampasas residents have been arrested on charges of lottery fraud, and Lampasas police officials said they anticipate more arrests will follow.

DISTRICT COURT

Lampasas County 27th District Court convened last week with Judge John Gauntt presiding over the day’s hearings.Defendant Mary Grace Foley of Kempner entered a plea of true at her adjudication hearing on a charge of theft of a controlled substance less than $150,000. The finding was withheld.

Lometa ISD seeks ways to propel teacher success and retention

The Lometa Independent School District’s Board of Trustees meeting provided updates regarding teacher success programs and research for continuing improvements in the district. Personnel matters also were approved during Monday’s meeting.

Painting sessions offered at library
