L-M GARDEN AND CIVIC CLUB The Lometa L-M Garden and Civic Club will hold a summer fundraiser at the Bancorp South parking lot in Lometa on July 2 from 8 a.m. to noon.

Lampasas Public Works Department Electric Superintendent Flint Geagley will retire June 24 after 36 years of service with the city. Geagley began his employment with Lampasas in 2006 as a meter reader and said he stayed with the department because he enjoyed working in the community.

This exceptionally hot weather has us all trying to find some relief from the high temperatures. There is a great place at the juncture of U.S. Highway 281 South, right here in town, that will take you back to a time in historic Lampasas.

Thirty-five family members were in attendance at the Whitehead reunion, held June 11 at the Lometa Church of Christ annex. Those family members represented four of the seven children of Elzie and Mary Whitehead: Leroy, Mary Lou, Faye and Adele.
