A Georgia man’s plea hearing in a Lampasas County felony case was postponed for a second time, court officials said. Michael Marzart Orr, 29, of Savannah, Georgia, was set for a plea hearing June 17 in 27th District Court, but that court date was canceled due to scheduling conflicts.

City officials want to alert the public of possible delays on Key Avenue/U.S. Highway 183 due to the construction of Lampasas’ Starbucks franchise. On Thursday, the city posted a notification of possible delays on southbound U.S. 183/ Key Avenue that could occur over the next two weeks. Officials cited the construction of the coffeehouse along that roadway as the cause.

Just two weeks after the death of Precinct 4 Justice of the Peace Greg Chapman, the Lampasas County Commissioners Court appointed his replacement. Chapman was elected justice of the peace in 2013.
