A Georgia man’s plea hearing in a Lampasas County felony case was postponed for a second time, court officials said. Michael Marzart Orr, 29, of Savannah, Georgia, was set for a plea hearing June 17 in 27th District Court, but that court date was canceled due to scheduling conflicts.

Starbucks construction may cause delays on Key Avenue

City officials want to alert the public of possible delays on Key Avenue/U.S. Highway 183 due to the construction of Lampasas’ Starbucks franchise. On Thursday, the city posted a notification of possible delays on southbound U.S. 183/ Key Avenue that could occur over the next two weeks. Officials cited the construction of the coffeehouse along that roadway as the cause.

Lometa ISD approves teacher training stipend

The Lometa Independent School District Board of Trustees met Thursday evening to begin preparations for the next school year, which starts in August. A motion passed unanimously to make 4-H members eligible for extracurricular status.
