The city of Lampasas is accepting applications for volunteer positions on city advisory boards. City officials said each year in September, terms for seats on several advisory boards expire, which can lead to open positions on various boards.

High school announces Homecoming Court nominees

The Lampasas High School 2022 Homecoming Court was announced earlier this week. Annual artifact show deemed a success

More than 500 people made their way to the Lampasas County Show Barn for the annual Indian Artifact & Mineral and Gem Show Sept. 17. Hosted by Vision Lampasas, the event features items from native cultures, along with rocks and minerals.

Lometa ISD trustees approve policy changes

The Lometa Independent School District Board of Trustees met Monday to update policies needed for the 2022-2023 school year. In addition, upkeep items were approved, such as a new concrete ramp between both school buildings.

Sales taxes continue their pattern of growth

Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar has announced that $1.04 billion in local sales tax allocations will be sent in September to cities, counties and special purpose districts across the state. These allocations are based on sales made in July by businesses that report their tax monthly to the comptroller.

One injured in rollover wreck

A San Saba man was transported to a Temple hospital with serious injuries after a rollover wreck in Lampasas County early Wednesday morning. According to Texas DPS authorities, a 28-year-old man from San Saba was traveling southbound on FM 580 East at 3:25 a.m.

County approves funding for home delivery meal program

After a majority vote by the Lampasas County Commissioners Court last week, meals will continue to be delivered to homebound seniors and those with a disability. The Texans Feeding Texans Home-Delivered Meal Grant Program was established to help supplement and extend the current home-delivered meal program for seniors and/or disabled Texans.
