But the holiday spike in giving can bring some uncertainty for charitable organizations that depend on year-round donations to function.

‘Lampasas County: Past & Present’ book unveiled

The Lampasas County Museum Foundation, in cooperation with Arcadia Publishing, has released a new book entitled “Lampasas County: Past & Present.” The book depicts how local iconic structures have changed through the years, featuring “then” and “now” photographs of many of the historical homes, places to eat, businesses, schools and government properties in the county. The historical photos included in the book are, for the most part, in the collection of the Lampasas County Museum, whereas the contemporary photos represent the work of John Fingerhut, Amy McDaniel and Donnie Price.

Food pantry offers next distribution on Dec. 16

St. Mary Catholic Church’s Food Pantry Ministry will hold its next drive-through food distribution on Dec. 16 from 9:30-11 a.m. at the church parking lot, 701 N. Key Ave. in Lampasas. All in need are welcome.

While her husband greeted children in the Ajinomoto Foods lobby, Mrs. Claus is joined by friends from the Lampasas Public Library who welcomed her to town for the Carol of Lights.
