While her husband greeted children in the Ajinomoto Foods lobby, Mrs. Claus is joined by friends from the Lampasas Public Library who welcomed her to town for the Carol of Lights. Toys collected at the Lampasas County Republican Party’s annual Christmas dinner will help children in the Adamsville area enjoy a holiday gift this year. County Republican Party Chair Wendy Daugherty is pictured with Duane Sweet, center, and Dean Watson of the Adamsville Volunteer Fire Department, which will distribute the gifts.

Teachers of the month honored

Texas Farm Bureau Insurance Agent Clay Phillips of Lampasas was at Taylor Creek Elementary recently to recognize several of its teachers. Lampasas County 27th District Court convened last week with Judge John Gauntt presiding over the day’s hearings. Defendant Garbriella Michealson Orozco of Brownwood entered a plea of guilty and was found guilty of fraudulent use/possession of identifying information-number of items less than five.

Courthouse square filled with Christmas lights

Mayor TJ Monroe flips the switch to turn on the decorative holiday lighting that surrounds the downtown area. The lighting ceremony officially initiates the Christmas season in Lampasas, and it was followed by the Holidazzle Lighted Parade last Saturday.
