Sen. Flores makes stop in Lampasas

State Sen. Pete Flores (R-Pleasanton) spoke on legislative achievements and plans for the next session to the several dozen residents at Thursday’s Lampasas County Republican Party gathering at Putters & Gutters Fun Center.

Daniel Hodges, 71, died on Oct. 3, 2024, in Lampasas.He is survived by his wife, Dianna Hodges; and two daughters, Annah Hodges and Karen Limmer. The service for Daniel Hodges will be held Oct. 7 at 11 a.m. at First Street Church of Christ, with burial to follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lampasas.

Love Thy Neighbor Festival slated for Saturday

Lampasans will have an opportunity to show their love on Saturday, with the first Love Thy Neighbor Festival planned to kick off.Ashleigh Elizabeth, founder of doLampasas, said she hopes the festival will celebrate community connection.

Go Texan BBQ cookoff slated for Oct. 11-12

The Lampasas County Area Go Texan BBQ Cookoff State Championship is set for the weekend of Oct. 11-12. The fifth annual cookoff will take place at the 580 Sports Complex all day Friday and Saturday.The list of sanctioned meats for this year’s cookoff includes chicken, ribs, pork and brisket.
