Swine show to start the day

Swine exhibitors will be the first to show their animals today, as the 88th annual Lampasas County Youth Livestock Show continues at the show barn. Swine will be followed by market lambs, then goats. The cattle show also will take place today, planned for 7 p.m.

TxDOT crews treat roadways ahead of winter weather

With winter weather expected this week, TxDOT Brownwood District crews have pretreated roadways in the district. Brine-spraying trucks were at work across the nine counties of the district: Brown, Coleman, Comanche, Eastland, Lampasas, McCulloch, Mills, San Saba and Stephens.

DISTRICT COURT

Lampasas County 27th District Court convened last week. Newly elected Judge Debbie Garrett presided over the day’s hearings.Defendant Gilbert Elias Ayala of Lometa had an adjudication announcement hearing on a charge of possession of a controlled substance less than 1 gram in a drug-free zone.
