Sales tax revenues on the rise for Lampasas, Kempner

The city of Lampasas recorded an 8% gain in sales tax revenues this period, compared to what it took in during October 2023. A check for $255,925 brings year-todate collections to $2.46 million, with two months remaining in 2024.

New city manager has years of experience in public service

Erin Corbell, who will begin her role as Lampasas city manager on Nov. 18, said she’s looking forward to diving into the Lampasas community.“I’m super-excited to get there,” said Corbell, who officially was hired Oct. 14.

Costumes galore at Squared Silly event

Second water leak develops

After the report last week of a second leak in a 27-inch water main line, Kempner Water Supply Corp. had repairs underway on Monday.KWSC General Manager Bruce Sorenson expects the repair to the valve on the concrete transmission line within Taylor Creek at U.S.

Lometa United Methodist Church will hold its Awesome Autumn Stew lunch Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church, 100 S. Second St.Stew, soup, chili and cornbread will be available, along with a drink and dessert. A bake sale also will be set up. Proceeds go to various ministries of the church.

Another water shut-off ahead

UPDATE: On Friday at 1:36 p.m., the city of Lampasas rescinded the boil water notice for Lampasas water users.  On Friday at 11:18 a.m., Kempner Water Supply Corporation officials issued a statement to answer questions received following the second line leak this week.

Ribbon-cutting takes place at new location

Elisa Grace Medspa + Boutique recently celebrated its move to a new location on East Avenue J. On hand for the ribbon-cutting event with owner Elisa Miller, in center holding scissors, were members of her staff, family and chamber of commerce representatives.
