LMS theatre gears up for One-Act Play competition

Lampasas Middle School theatre students will compete in the annual One-Act Play competition Saturday at the Lampasas High School cafeteria.Last year, LMS secured first place for a third consecutive year. LMS theatre director Kelli Cox noted, however, that being the best is not what it’s all about.

Salvation Army provides program for ’36 Club members

On Jan. 9, The ’36 Club of Lampasas had a program presented by David Spradley and Dorothy Person of the Lampasas County Salvation Army. These representatives provided information pertaining to the countywide service unit they oversee.

Classics at the Classic to gather on Saturday

The monthly get-together for classic car lovers will take place Saturday at 4 p.m. in the back parking lot of Storm’s Drive-in. Bring a lawn chair and enjoy the vehicles on display while chatting with their owners.

Lampasas County 27th District Court convened several times this month, with Judge Debbie Garrett presiding over the hearings.The following action took place Jan. 17: Defendant Timothy James Crownover of Lampasas entered a plea deal, and guilty pleas were accepted.

Kempner council discusses senior tax freeze, declines fire marshal agreement

Kempner City Council members spent the majority of Tuesday’s regular meeting in a workshop to consider the possible implementation of a property tax freeze for those homeowners age 65 and older.

Commissioners designate February as Night Sky Awareness Month

Lampasas County Commissioners Court proclaimed February as Night Sky Awareness Month during Monday’s short meeting. Precinct 2 Commissioner Jamie Smart was absent from the session.Lampasas County Friends of the Night Sky is a nonprofit that works under the auspices of Vision Lampasas.
