Teenage pedestrian struck Tuesday by vehicle on Key Avenue

A Lampasas Middle School student was flown by helicopter to a nearby hospital after being struck by an automobile along South Key Avenue Tuesday afternoon.The incident remains under investigation by the Lampasas Police Department, according to Patrol Lt. Chuck Montgomery.

Council members, judicial officials take oath of office in Kempner

The Kempner City Council swore in three aldermen during Tuesday’s regular meeting, including one new member to serve the unexpired Place 5 term vacated by Debbie Hernandez.The only action item was approval of an ordinance allowing the city to impose a fee on individuals who fail to appear in court.

Sheriff Department’s K-9 earns her name

The Lampasas County Sheriff’s Office has a K-9 unit in training. The dog’s name is Blazer, an ode to the Chevrolet SUV.The year-and-a-half-old Belgium Malinois dog is completing its six-week training alongside trainer Shane Menz of Saber Working Dogs.
