Diamondback Jubilee set for March 28-29

The midway is filled with people waiting to purchase concessions at last year’s Diamondback Jubilee. The Lometa Lions Club-sponsored event will offer dozens of vendors, plenty of rodeo action and a variety of contests and entertainment for festival-goers.

Lady Badger lifters competing at state meet

Two dead in Hamilton County crash

Two Killeen residents lost their lives in a one-vehicle crash in Hamilton County early Sunday morning, and authorities have arrested the driver on intoxication manslaughter charges.Texas DPS officers responded to a onevehicle crash on U.S. Highway 281 about six miles south of Hamilton at 3:18 a.m.

GRAND JURY

Lampasas County grand jury convened Wednesday to continue the January term.Sgt. Investigator Garrett Bradley of the Lampasas Police Department presented information that resulted in two indictments: Harold Milton Simmons on a charge of theft involving an elderly person on June 29, 2023.
