Mayor, two new council members sworn in on Monday

The city of Lampasas saw a changing of the guard Monday evening, as a new mayor and two new council members were sworn into office. Council member Herb Pearce will serve this term as the city’s mayor, and Charles Pratus and Eric Hernandez have joined the council dais.

Bill to limit commissioners courts’ ability to regulate subdivisions fails to advance in Texas Legislature

After failing to progress through the Texas House in the late hours on Monday, Senate Bill 2037 no longer will be a worry for the Lampasas County Commissioners Court. On Monday morning, prior to postponement of the bill in the Texas Legislature, the Commissioners Court unanimously approved a proclamation in opposition to the potential legislation.

Pierian Club celebrates 120 years of community service to Lampasas

At its final meeting of the 2022-2023 club year, the Pierian Club and guests gathered at the home of member Carol Northington Wright to celebrate the organization’s 120th anniversary. Joining club members for the celebration were spouses, friends and special guests Barbara Harvey, presidentelect of GFWC Texas, and Monica Benoit-Beatty, president-elect of the state federation’s Capitol District.
