Library serves as community hub for many patrons

As the summer activity at Lampasas Public Library slows down somewhat, staff are taking a break from events for the rest of July and looking ahead to a full fall schedule. “We’re just taking a break right now, taking a breath,” Library Director Shanda Subia said.

Woman injured in hit-and-run incident at gas station

A 57-year-old female received injuries last week after being backed into by a vehicle at the Valero gas station at the intersection of South Key Avenue and EE Ohnmeiss Drive in Lampasas. After the incident, the driver at fault fled the scene.

Lampasas County 27th District Court convened last week with Judge John Gauntt presiding over the day’s hearings. Defendant Melissa Jean Jackson of Lampasas pleaded guilty to a charge of tamper/fabricate physical evidence with intent to impair and received two years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.

Lampasas County Water Control and Improvement District No. 1 has entered into an agreement with Pitt Creek Ranch LLC over the establishment of the Lampasas County Municipal Utility District #1.

Emergency water measures put in place for Lampasas

Due to a leak that developed Wednesday evening in the concrete transmission line along U.S. Highway 190 that carries water from Kempner Water Supply to Lampasas customers, the city of Lampasas has issued a Stage 5 Water Emergency alert.
