BADGER CUTS & CLAWS PROGRAM LAMPASAS HIGH SCHOOL Two Lampasas High School seniors passed their state board exams March 23 to become licensed cosmetologists. Megan Caddies and Bella Guerra are enrolled in the high school’s cosmetology program, part of the Career and Technical Education offerings.

TROY UNIVERSITY Crystal Nunez of Lampasas has been named to the Chancellor’s List at Troy University in Alabama for Term 3 of the 2021-2022 academic year. The Chancellor’s List honors full-time undergraduate students who are registered for at least 12 semester hours and earn a grade-point average of 4.0.

Healthy Streams program planned for Lampasas River watershed

The Lampasas River Watershed Partnership, in collaboration with Texas AgriLife Extension Service, will offer a Lone Star Healthy Streams Workshop April 19 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Lampasas County Office Building conference room, 409 S. Pecan St. in Lampasas.

Hunters bring in snakes for Diamondback Jubilee

As its name implies, the Diamondback Jubilee began more than 50 years ago as a community event dedicated to rounding up rattlesnakes. It has developed into a popular festival that draws several thousand visitors to Lometa on the last Saturday of March for what is now a several-day celebration and rodeo.
